Earned It!

During these last nine months, I’ve been training to become a Certified Professional Coach through iPEC (Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching). I went through training to become a financial coach back in 2024 through Financial Coach Academy, and I really wanted to grow my skills as a professional coach as I was seeing how people relate to money goes waaaay deeper than having great systems in place. I still believe in and am passionate about awesome systems for money management, though!

To be honest, I also really wanted letters behind my name. I know, I know, I’m sure it sounds “extra,” but it’s just something that was important to me. Coaching isn’t a regulated industry, so technically, anyone can call themselves a coach. But if you know anything at all about me, you know personal excellence is at the core of my being, and substance to back up a title matters to me A LOT. While I definitely struggle with personal vulnerability, one thing I never want to lack is solid integrity, so though not required, this process really mattered to me.

Well, as with my journey when I trained to become a financial coach, all the hard work was worth it even if it was just for me. The transformation and growth I experienced through the countless hours of training these last nine months have been nothing short of life changing. I’m not exaggerating, I promise! I don’t know any other way I could have experienced this kind of transformation.

It’s too much to detail in a blog post, so I’m going to break it down over this next month or so by taking foundational principles I learned, reflecting on them, and applying them to our relationships with life and money. I hope it enriches your life as much as it has mine!

Warmly,

Melanie Chandler, CPC
