Why this work matters
I’d try to stay on top of things, but it usually ended in frustration. I’d look at what we spent, feel discouraged, and then avoid it. We were putting most things on credit cards for the points, sometimes pulling from savings to cover the gaps, and making decisions based on what we should be able to afford.
We weren’t in a crisis—but we also weren’t moving forward with confidence. I was always looking backward, trying to piece things together.
And what made it more confusing was this: We made good money. So why didn’t it feel better than this?
That question led me to realize it wasn’t about needing more discipline or better investments. We needed a better way to manage our everyday money.
I dove into learning all I could about personal finance and applying what I learned to our lives. I learned systems that could actually handle real life—irregular expenses, busy seasons, and the unpredictability that comes with a full life and running a business.
And when that clicked, everything changed. The stress eased. The guesswork disappeared. I finally felt clear and confident in our day-to-day financial decisions.
That’s why I do this work now.
Because I know how confusing it can feel when you’re earning plenty, doing so many things right, and it still doesn’t feel the way you expected.
Not because you’re bad with money, but because no one ever showed you a system that fits your life.
Today, I help you create that kind of clarity so your money finally feels calm, intentional, and supportive of the life you’re already living.
If you’ve ever thought, “We should be fine… so why does this feel so off?”—you’re exactly who I created this for.
I didn’t become a financial coach because I had it all figured out—I became one because I didn’t.
For a long time, I thought I was “good with money.” My husband and I were intentional early on, living frugally to get through PT school debt-free. As life went on, we checked all the right boxes—we had a financial advisor, a CPA, and a solid plan for investing and taxes.
And on paper, we were doing really well. But as our life grew, so did the complexity.
We were raising four kids and running our business, Chandler Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab, here in Winston-Salem. Money was coming in, but on a day-to-day level, it didn’t feel clear or settled.
It was the fluctuating expenses that got me.
